Born in Vancouver, Angela has a Bachelor's Degree in French and Spanish from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts in Translation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. As part of her degree courses, she studied in Quebec City, Valencia, Madrid, and Geneva.

Her professional career began in Europe at the European Union and then the International Encyclopaedia of Laws in Belgium for a total of 6 years. Then she left for Hong Kong where she worked at the headquarters of a multinational timber company for 8 years in purchasing and sales. After returning to Vancouver briefly in order to obtain certification in, among other things, Microsoft Office Suite, Web Publishing, Photography and Small Business Management, she departed again on a new adventure, this time in the Caribbean as International Ambassador for an American cruise line.

In September 2005, Angela opened her own consultancy company in Vancouver, ACFairbank Consulting, and currently provides services to her international clients in translation, interpreting, editing, writing, proofreading, website creation and management, sales and marketing, and photography.

Having studied Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish over the years, Angela has recently completed certificates in Professional Sales and Digital Film Production. She is an avid supporter of personal professional development and makes sure she keeps up to date with evolving internet issues; this includes recent course in PDFs, blogging, marketing through social media, Flash, web marketing, SEO, website accessibility and usability, website information architecture, website monetization methods, affiliate marketing, monitoring website activities, Google tools, such as AdWords, AdSense and Analytics, generating traffic to websites, e-commerce, online-payment methods, shopping carts, and PayPal, etc.

For the last few years, she has been donating her time and skills as a volunteer translator for a children's charity in Bali, Indonesia.
